RecyOuest
Packaging Solutions
Recyouest is a start-up in the engineering of the recycling of filamentary plastic waste. Its ambition is to recycle agricultural round bale nets using an innovative dry cleaning process patented worldwide. In 2012, Marcela is looking at existing recycling solutions and is quickly taking an interest in non-recycled plastic waste. After meeting with many experts, she discovered a major problem in the treatment of agricultural plastic waste and specifically the nets that surround hay and straw bales. This waste represents 120,000 tons worldwide and is currently landfilled or incinerated. In reality, the market for filamentary plastic waste is much larger. It is estimated that more than one million tons of waste awaits recycling (bigs bags, geotextile, mosquito nets) While travelling in Peru, Marcela uses her knowledge of cotton weaving and sorting to find a suitable solution for cleaning and recycling these queues. She launched the first tests that were conclusive and created the Recyouest company. In 2015, it filed a patent for its mechanical recycling process without the use of water or chemicals. In 2018, the latest tests and scientific research will validate its recycling process. Marcela has succeeded in recreating an agricultural net from recycled material and RecyOuest is part of a circular economic approach and the infinite use of plastic. In 2019, the recycling plant will be set up in France.
