In fill out
Responsible Innovation Projects
“In fill out” project is a project in which 3D printed objects are finished by boiling them in a pot. By relating the process of cooking to the process of making a product, I found a way to make it easy to process at home. As a result, by keeping the amount of material to a minimum, it is even possible to make them light enough to float on water. The ability to pack it flat enough to fit into an envelope has also made it very cost-effective to transport. Printing time and materials can be reduced by more than 95%. The new technique can be applied to a wide range of products, including vases, wall objects and coin trays. In the end, I managed to create a surface that does not look like it was made with a 3D printer.
