Lock Furniture is a design brand for furnuture based on innovative, developed inhouse, original joints. All products are produced from sheet materials by CNC milling. At the present moment the majority of the details are produced from sustainbly grown baltic birch plywood. As the company is in constant search for innovation and ecological solutions, we partner with the Colombia based, street wear brand Fokus Green in terms of supply of recycled textiles and plastics to be used as seatings and backrest for our furniture models. Future plans include replacement of the baltic birch plywood with recycled plastic sheet material. For this contest we showcase the Lese Furniture family where the seatings and backrests are made entirely from plastic and Electron Chair where the seating,the backrest and the attaching ropes are made from recycled from plastic textiles. Futher more the process of production – CNCmilling, and the use mainly of “sheet” materials allows the replacment of plywood with plastic sheet material. This proces of preparation for CNC milling, called “nesting” also allows the production to minimize almost enirely the waste, which is afterwords recycled again.
